Clean Wedge Sald w/ Balsamic Reduction + Dump Ranch

I used to think picking up a salad from McDonald’s was a good option but um, it’s not. You might as well grab a burger because their salads are filled with junk. In addition to that, the big ranch bottle you have in your fridge you can probably throw that away too. Most salad dressings are full of terrible oils, packed with sugar and additives.

Step away from the bad salad dressing! IT WILL NOT HELP YOU REACH YOUR GOALS! There are so many different options for clean salad dressing. Some you can buy by the bottle and others you can make. If I am craving a ranch-type dressing I always use the Whole Sisters recipe which you can find here!

For my wedge salads I am obsessed with using the dump ranch above and also making a scrumptious balsamic reduction using honey and balsamic vinegar. See below for all the details!

Wedge Salad w/ Balsamic Reduction + Dump Ranch

  • Servings: 4
  • Difficulty: easy
  • Print

Ingredients :

1 head lettuce cut up in to 4 sections

1/4 cup honey

1/2 cup balsamic vinegar

Cherry tomatoes

Bacon bits

Dump Ranch

  1. Add balsamic vinegar and honey to a small sauce pan. Heat until almost boiling, reduce heat and simmer for 10 minutes while preparing the salad (This would be a good time to make your bacon for bacon bits if you do not already have those prepared. I cook a pound of bacon at the start of the week so I always have them available.)
  2. Cut head of lettuce in to 4 equal parts (removing any inedible/hard parts of the lettuce head)
  3. Cut cherry tomatoes in half and add on top of salad wedge
  4. Add bacon bits
  5. Top with dump ranch
  6. Drizzle lightly with balsamic reduction
  7. Enjoy!
